Since 2004 I have been building a playing field for New Media. I have been pushed back at since inception. So this year is going to be Membership first. I have already been there done that. As a Senior Citizen Journalist Reporter on continuous assignment I want to break the walls down that separate paid media from Entrepreneur Visionaries that promote honest literacy and competitive Reporting.
No longer can a Reporter be deemed legitimate if not published for pay. That is ridiculous. How many volunteers offer help to Candidates and never see a dime but when News is being gathered a video content is not legitimate?
Please update your brains and get on our page. We are Media. We follow stories and do investigative research and work as feeder fish to News outlets who are beginning to trust our work.
So if your going to knock at our door and say where are you going with your footage? Be prepared to be ignored.
We may be storing the evidence that will shape the truth in any given moment. Beware of truth in Reporting gaining momentum at the hands of Citizen Journalists and Reporters in the making.
We are a force to reckon with.
Way back when I was younger you just wrote letters to the Editor and were considered Reporters. It was an easy entry to Reporting. You just did it, if the Editor liked your story it flew. Today you can post your own website and have a presence you could not years ago. This is the message New Media needs to regurgitate ad nauseum. If you disseminate information to the public on a regular basis you are Media. End of story.
